Giving away something will increase your opt ins dramatically. You can’t just give away anything; it has to be something of value if you want them to become a buying customer. You can even tell your customers how much the free item is worth (for example, a 30-minute coaching call might be worth $200). Always include a message at the bottom of your squeeze page that you will not sell or rent their information to anyone else.

Branding Sites

Branding sites are designed to brand YOU. For branding sites, I use WordPress sites. Google likes WordPress. I recommend outsourcing the development and writing of your WordPress site, since your time can be better spent developing your products and services.

WordPress sites are great for branding. WordPress sites have a home page. The home page allows you to provide more information and detail than a squeeze page. The branding site is meant to give people information - lots of information about you, your product, and your services.

Lay out your branding site with a home page about your product and service. The "about me" tab should be all about you…your story, your history, your information. It gives your customers a connection to you before you even call or email them.

You can also add more tabs, including a blog. A blog is a great way to add content to your website. As you add content, Google comes and crawls your site and sees the new information on your branding site. That’s why Google likes these WordPress sites so much - because the content can change all the time.

On your branding site, the minimum information you will have is a home page, an about me page, and a blog. You should blog three or four times a week about the subject, service or product (the blogging can also be outsourced, particularly if you’re not a good writer). You can add additional tabs as well. For example, if your site is a golf product, you can expand your tabs and have golf tips, golf coaching, a section on putting and a section on driving. As you can see, your branding site can really expand on what and who you are.

From your branding site, you can have links to your social networking sites. You will also have on your branding site an opt-in form with the same free giveaway from your squeeze page. Your ultimate goal, even with the branding site, is still to generate leads. Give your site visitors something of value to get their contact information.

Driving Traffic to Your Sites

There are multiple ways to drive traffic to your squeeze page and your branding site. While most traffic driving tools are appropriate for both, pay-per-click ad campaigns should only be used to drive traffic to your squeeze page. They are expensive to use, so don’t waste time with anything less than the best leads.

In addition to pay per click, you can drive traffic to your sites by:

o Natural ranking. The more information you have on your website and the more you blog and write articles on your site, the more your natural rank will increase.
o SEO. Search-engine optimized writing can drive traffic to both your squeeze page and your branding site. While it is easier to drive traffic to your branding site with SEO, you can rank a squeeze page by using well-placed keywords and content.
o Banner and texts ads. You can drive traffic from banner and text ads to either your squeeze page or your branding site.
o Offline marketing. Again, you can drive traffic to either site.
o Email marketing. While you can drive email traffic to either site, you will probably generate more leads if you drive the traffic to your squeeze page.
o Traffic exchange also works for either, but I don’t do a lot of traffic exchange.
o Co-registration. I do not currently use co-registration, but when I did, I sent them to my squeeze page.
o Web 2.0 (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc). I link to both my branding site and my squeeze page.
o Article marking. I do drive some to my squeeze page, but I primarily send them to my branding site.
o Blogging. I drive traffic to both my branding site and my squeeze page with my blog.
o Press releases. Especially paid press releases submitted through PR Web I use to drive traffic to both sites.

The world today looks pretty bleak. Financial institutions are failing all over the world, and several million jobs have seemingly disappeared overnight, meaning that ordinary people are facing bleak financial circumstances. You might be one of them. Maybe you have a mortgage to pay that you can’t, or maybe your children’s activities are no longer something you can afford. Personal debt may be on the rise simply because you’re trying to keep things going while you’re in this downturn, in hopes that something is going to come along that will make things better. In the meantime, you still have to buy gas, groceries, go to the doctor, and do all the things that daily living requires.

Fortunately, there is a better way. You can have what you need and more. And it’s not a hand out, but a real, honest-to-goodness work at home opportunity that you can spend either part-time or full-time on, so that you can pay your expenses, get out of debt, and still live your dreams. Maybe you want to send your kids to college or make sure your retirement is intact; or maybe, you have even loftier goals in mind, like taking a dream vacation to Hawaii, or building that new house.

My job took a downswing, too. My hours were first cut from full-time part-time, and I had to have something to do. So I looked for a business where I could work at home part-time. I started a business website and reviewed opportunities for work at home businesses that were available. I listened to people telling what they wanted and what they didn’t like about current work at home opportunities out there. Of course, my focus was on legitimacy of those opportunities, and I wanted to find as many legitimate opportunities that seemed feasible so that people could earn extra income they needed. There were lots of paid survey websites, but would it really be worth my time to spend anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour typing in observations in answers for what amounted to about $10-$30 each?

Several of these places rated my answers as worth something, so I began to do phone interviews and teleconference focus groups as well, and these activities paid me quite well, over $100 for an hour of my time and input. When you work for these sites, they usually "bank" your money in an account that they keep a running balance on. When your balance reaches $100 or another defined amount, they pay you. Most people prefer to be paid once a month by check or by PayPal.

You can also try new products and services out. Manufacturers will pay you to try the product in your home and hope you’ll buy it. You can just cancel within the 30 days they usually give you (or other free offer timeframe as appropriate). You are also required to give feedback on the product, but you don’t have to pay anything. Unfortunately, you do have to give a credit card number in the event you want to keep the service or product, and you’ll usually have to pay to ship the product back. Because you often get paid double or triple what the return cost is, though, you do net some profit. This isn’t a "get rich quick" scheme, since most of these places only pay you a few hundred dollars a month, but it does provide you a little bit of extra cash.

More lucratively, you can sell other people’s products or services. You don’t have to invest anything yourself, but you do take a percentage of sales for those people you have referred. Many people have affiliate programs, with Amazon being one of the largest. So-called "info products" are all the rage now, with companies like PayDotCom and ClickBank two of the largest. You may want to spend some money on ads or traffic boosters, but this isn’t always necessary.

A company called Triple Clicks like to sell items that you have just sitting around for free. Their ads tell you to "get rid of the clutter" and "get cash." BBB approved partner SFI (a veteran of 20 years) lets you join for free, and you get thousands of products to earn money with. You can sell to friends, sell online, post classified ads in newspapers, and much more. p>

You can write e-books to sell, you can write for sites that do revenue sharing, or any number of opportunities out there on the Internet.

If you’re a mom, you can open a daycare center in your home so that you can take care of your children yet still provide a nice income for your family. And it has the added benefit of providing playmates for your children and giving you a nice paycheck besides.

You may be able to do this exclusively online, or you might see students in your home or travel to their homes.

Is this really "selling"?

Yes, it is, in the sense that it requires a certain level of "selling" yourself and your skills. You have to make yourself known to clients and you have to make your services desirable to them. If you’re so uncomfortable with the concept of selling anything (even yourself or your services) that you think you simply can’t, then work at home positions might not work out for you unless you are a work at home employee for a specific employer in a telecommuting type of situation.

If you want to work at home and have your own business, though, you’re going to have to learn to "sell" yourself. This is an integral part of a having any type of work at home business. You have to make yourself known to clients and you have to make your skills appealing to them. That is simply part of what you have to do.

With that said, though, it’s still not the same thing to market yourself and your services as it is to sell something like skincare products, make up, and so on. In other words, there are many options to the "direct selling" that these types of businesses require you to do; there are many other things that you can do at home that simply require the "sale" of yourself and the services you provide. p>
